Two upgrades for the production of implant prosthetics!

As of September 2016, two upgrades are available for the compact milling unit Zfx™ Inhouse5x: The first one is a combined software and hardware upgrade for the processing of pre-abutment blanks made of titanium. The second, software-based development enables the production of implant-based Multi-Unit restorations. Zfx is able to introduce the upgrades in the field of implant prosthetics due to the high accuracy of the milling unit Inhouse5x that it is similar to that of industrial milling machines. A reason for this fact is the use of high-quality components such as a high-frequency spindle and particularly smooth-running servo drives.

Anyone who would like to process Zfx™ Pre-Abutment Blanks has to purchase a patented Zfx™ Pre-Abutment Blank Holder, which comes together with a CAM software module including the required milling templates. The blank holder has 12 slots for titanium pre-abutment blanks available with pre-fabricated connections for all Zimmer Biomet and many other popular implant systems. The holder is exceptional in that the blanks are fixed at the abutment head above the part that is processed and not at the sensitive connection which might be damaged through pressure. The blanks are placed in the milling unit using the highly precise method of absolute positioning.

In order to use the Zfx™ Inhouse5x for the production of implant-based Multi-Unit bridges and bars, the user invests in an additional CAM module with milling templates. With this module available, the computer-aided design can be carried out with the Zfx™ CAD-Software (Module Implant Bars and Bridges). Multi-Unit platforms compatible with the implant systems of Zimmer Biomet, Nobel Biocare, Dentsply Implants, Straumann etc. are already available in the software. Completed framework designs are imported into the CAM software and finally produced from zirconia, titanium, cobalt-chromium or PMMA. The metal alloys are processed in their final state, no sintering is necessary after milling. The manufactured Multi-Unit constructions can thus be screwed directly on abutment level or alternatively glued and screwed by Zfx Multi-Unit Titanium Bases.
